Appendix 2c - Plan for future acts in the post, plan how to develop teaching and research in the area of the post

In general given courses should be tied to research work (curriculum of Communication Ecosystems major) and vice versa. Therefore students will work in experimental part of their studies in close cooperation with project staffs. This work is tied to partnering companies and theoretical substance of the Department. Project staffs will lecture in regular and licentiate courses and participate to planning and realization of lab works. Example: In course S-72.2510 UBI-SERV project services were presented and analyzed (Course overview is discussed in Appendix 2d). Curriculum and research develop must be tied to Aalto University as outlined in Appendix 2b (Section: Communication Ecosystems Major).

My own theoretical and experimental research relates to health-care, well-being services and public safety systems. Comnet has in this area on-going EU-funded projects, networks and expertise. Important topics of interest in this field include:
Experimental work in China is realized in cooperation with Finnish Service integration Prokura Ltd and other local actors. This is already initiated in UBI-SERV project.

NOTE: Communication Ecosystems major will focus also to other disciplines than health-care and public safety.  In selection of these key disciplines (or application areas) applicable funding sources as well as true expertise areas of Department and Aalto University are import to jointly consider with industry partners. Communication Ecosystems major must support Department research and teaching and vice versa.

The bases of curriculum are formed of human centric communications and ecosystem modeling methods and processes. Interaction skill and ways to verify and process information by scientific argumentation are important part of both project work and studies. Parts of lectures as well as research projects are arranged jointly with other units of Aalto University. Theoretical findings are subjected to academic discussion in scientific peer-reviewed publications and constrained to practical requirements of industry partners. Peer-review study methods, lecturing diaries and intelligent social media tools are utilized in courses and in research. Important objective is that projects and teaching should be managed coherently such that synergy benefits can be utilized.
